I am a Salem Witch who can harness the power of language, intuition, and magick to create an unforgettable ceremony!
My name is Tara ("Tah-Rah") McMullen-King (She/Her), and I launched Witchy Woman Weddings in 2020 to help couples create wedding, commitment, and vow renewal ceremonies that honor their backgrounds, passions, and quirks.
I am an Eclectic Witch, a Wiccan Priestess initiated into a lineaged branch of British Traditional Witchcraft, and an ordained minister of American Marriage Ministries. Within my practice, I often work with cartomancy (tarot, oracle, Lenormand), tasseography, runes, crystals, candle magick, and several forms of scrying. Over the past decade, I've had the opportunity to pursue classes and extensive coursework taught by a plethora of distinguished scholars and leaders in the fields of Wicca, witchcraft, folk magic, and divination, which has profoundly deepened my expertise and fortified my practice.

I have also been a member of the International Association of Professional Wedding Officiants (IAPWO) and the Salem Chamber of Commerce, and have pursued advanced studies in professional ceremony officiation, event design, and wedding planning. In 2021, I completed intensive coursework offered by the New York Institute of Art and Design and certified by the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), the world's largest professional wedding planning organization.
Prior to founding Witchy Woman Weddings, I spent 15 years working on design and coordination projects for a wide range of different events, including professional conferences, fundraising events and galas, psychic fairs, and personal celebrations.
In addition to running Witchy Woman Weddings, I work for a fundraising research and data analytics consulting firm that has helped hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the United States and beyond.
I am also an artist, an award-winning researcher and trainer, a musician, a retired performer with the Boston League of Women Wrestlers, and a huge fan of karaoke.

When I am not hunkered down in front of my laptop working on projects, I can usually be found drinking too much black coffee from Dunkin Donuts, getting tattooed, indulging in retail therapy, bingewatching documentaries and trashtacular reality TV, and hitting up my favorite local haunts!

Born and raised in Connecticut, I moved out to Boston after graduating from Smith College, a 150-year-old liberal arts college for women in Northampton, Massachusetts. In 2015, I moved up North to the Witch City... and met my soulmate two weeks later! Three years after our first date here in Salem (which took place on a Friday the 13th, naturally), we had our own fabulous "spooky season" wedding at The House of the Seven Gables. We currently reside in a very old home in Downtown Salem with our two black cats - Pugsley Addams and Darth Vader - and a few benevolent spirits.

For my astrology lovers out there, my Big Three are: Aquarius sun, Virgo rising, and Pisces moon!
